Ashley Oh, Korean Teacher
Ashley is a native Korean speaker. She was born and raised in South Korea, and educated in Malaysia and Canada. She graduated from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia.
She is enthusiastic and devoted Korean Language Teacher with excellent communication skills, maximizing students' learning experience in diverse classroom settings. She has experience in implementing Korean language group classes for beginners in Malaysia, facilitating Korean-English translation group sessions in Canada, and tutoring Korean language and other subjects. With her diverse work experience and strong cultural understanding, her goal is to make the language class fun and engaging. She loves travelling, reading, and learning new language.

Erica Bone, Korean Teacher
Erica is a native Korean speaker. She was born and grew up in South Korea, then later moved to Canada as a teenager. She graduated from University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts. She has taught Korean to English, English to Korean translation and interpretation at an international language college in Vancouver and has extensive experience tutoring Korean in a one on one setting with students of various backgrounds and a diverse range of Korean language skill levels. She is passionate about helping students learn the Korean culture and language. Erica's favorite way to spend her free time is to cuddle up with her two cats and watch Korean dramas and movies.

Andrea Ham, Korean Teacher
Andrea is a native Korean speaker. She was born and grew up in South Korea. She has studied and graduated with a Bachelor of English Education and Business in Korea. She is certified to teach English in Korea and had taught students from preschool to public high school for over 10 years. She is ready to share her knowledge of Korean culture, tradition and food while teaching about the fundamentals of communicating in Korean. Andrea believes that having fun is an important part of acquiring a new language. Are you ready to have a good time and get a firm grasp of the Korean language? She is available for classes in Vancouver.

Chiemi Fuse, Japanese Teacher
Chiemi is a native Japanese speaker. She was born and grew up in Japan. She has studied and graduated Bachelor of General Studies and Minor in Early Childhood Education at Simon Fraser University. She had taught English in Japan
and Japanese language in Vancouver for many years. She has been one of the best language teacher at My Language Connect for last 5 years. Chiemi's strength is helping students learn and acquire Japanese langauge with a good understanding of Japanese culture, people, and langauge usage. She teaches students Japanese for letting them be able to speak the language as natural and authentic as possible in addition to basic grammatical linguistic aspects. She can have classes near Metrotown area if Coquitlam is too far for you.

Sophie Zihong Jiang, Mandarin Teacher
Sophie is a native Mandarin speaker. She was born and grew up in Shanghai, China.
She has studied and graduated Bachelor of Library Science. She also has Medium-level teaching proficiency of TCSOL certificate from Beijing Language and Culture Uniersity of People's Republic of China, Teacher of Chinese as a Foreign Language Certificate from Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Level 1 Certificate of Japanese Langauge Proficiency from Japan Foundation. She had taught Mandarin to adults at Shanghai Foreign Services Co.Ltd for 7 years and at Shanghai Foreign Langauge school in Shanghai for 2 years. She also taught Mandarin to elementary students at Grand River Chinese School in Waterloo, Ontario for 7 years. In addition, she has also taught Mandarin at Language Training School in Richinmond for a year and a half. She has been also teaching at My Language Connect for last 4.5 years. She has long experience in teaching Mandarin and really passionate about teaching another language. She can have classes in Vancouver or Metrotown area if Coquitlam is too far for you.

Tracy Wen, Mandarin Teacher
Tracy is a native Mandarin speaker. She grew up in Taiwan and came to Canada when she was 16 years old. She has graduated from British Columbia Institute of Technology. She has an English as a Second Language Certificate, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) certificate and Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) certificate. She has taught Mandarin in several organizations for last 6 years and has tutoring experience from Taiwan, Vancouver and Online. She has great experiences in teaching Mandarin to all ages. Tracy is patient and creative, she believes being a great teacher is to help students in different ways according to their interests and personalities. She loves Arts, sports and cooking. Tracy is out going and eager, she is looking forward to creating a joyful journey with you on the path of learning Mandarin.

Sydney Lin, Mandarin Teacher
Sydney is a native Mandarin speaker who grew up in Taiwan and later moved to Canada as a teen. She is currently a 4th year student at the University of British Columbia.
She has experience teaching Mandarin in a one-on-one setting, as well as other subjects in a classroom. Sydney’s main goal as a Mandarin teacher is to provide fun, personalized, and engaging lessons for her students where they feel comfortable. She is looking forward to being a part of your learning journey!

Hamson Cheng, Cantonese Teacher
Hamson is a native Cantonese and English speaker. He was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in Communication and Publishing. He also has a Teaching English to Foreign Learners (TEFL) Certificate from the University of Toronto, specializing in Teaching Business English and Teaching English to Young Learners. He lived and worked in Hong Kong and taught English there to students from preschool to high school. He also has been teaching Cantonese at My Language Connect for last 2.5 years. He enjoys travelling, meeting people, continued learning, and helping others improve their language proficiency. He can have classes in Vancouver if Coquitlam is too far for you.

Mary Ho, Cantonese Teacher
Mary's home town is the beautiful Malaysia where she grew up and spent adolescent before embarking to a tour around the world from Australia to China and now Canada. Her mother tongue includes Cantonese, Hakka, Mandarin and Malay. Though English is her second language, she found the essence encrypted within, thanks to her native voice. As Geoffrey Willans said "You can never understand one language until you understand at least two" She can have classes in Vancouver if Coquitlam is too far for you.

Victor Bernovsky, French & ESL Teacher
Victor is a native English, French and Russian speaker who is also fluent in Spanish. He has over 15 years of language teaching experience. He is originally from Montréal, Québec and has worked in many different locations in Canada and Europe, where he has taught students of all ages, levels and backgrounds. He has also taught countless one-on-one classes to adults and teens, both in-person and online. Most notably, he worked as an Associate Professor of French at IE University in Segovia, Spain from 2015 to 2016. He also worked at the Elite Educational Institute in Burnaby from 2017-2018, where he taught classes focused on English and French language, reading and writing for kids and teens. More recently, he taught Spanish as a foreign language at the University of Gibraltar, UK in 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in French literature from Paul-Valéry University in Montpellier, France and a M.A. in French from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Currently, he is the publication manager of a volume on the literature of New France: France’s first colonial empire. It will contain 27 articles written by North American and European scholars and specialists in literature, history, sociology, anthropology and film. Publication is forthcoming by the end of 2022.
He is a highly dedicated teacher whose goal is to make sure his students fully realize their potential. One of his main motivations as a teacher is that by breaking down the language barrier, cultural differences are overcome, which is one step closer to a more inclusive world. By speaking someone’s language, you learn about the individual, his/her culture and way of thinking.

Sabrina PÉRIARD, French Teacher
Sabrina is a native French speaker. She was born and raised in a francophone little town (less than a thousand) between Montréal and Gatineau/Ottawa. She went to school in French and spoke French all her life .
She has Québec a DEC in Languages. In 2016, her passion for travelling made her take one of her biggest decisions ever. She moved to Alberta to be a french assistant language teacher in a little city, Whitecourt, for one year. Her job was to help students in French immersion (kindergarten to 9th grade) to improve their French. She really enjoyed that experience. When she came back to Québec, she continued to build experiences teaching kindergarten to 10th grade. Then she moved to Vancouver in 2018 and has been teaching French at My Language Connect. She is here to help you with your French! 🙂

Isadora Lélis, Portuguese Teacher
Isadora is a native Portuguese speaker. She was born in Brazil and grew up in Brasília, Brazil’s capital. She has a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from UnB (University of Brasília). She has taught the Portuguese language in large schools in Brasília and has 5 years teaching experience in the Portuguese language. She has worked with students with varied ages, most of them between 11 and 30 years old. She is a creative and energetic person and is passionate about her profession. She uses new technology in her classes and likes to likes to personalize her class preparation for her students. She loves to sing (you can invite her to go to karaokê evening), dance and chat. She is available to teach in Coquitlam, Downtown and Burnaby.

Stefania Mercolini, Italian Teacher & ESL Teacher
Stefania is a native Italian speaker. She was raised in Rome, Italy and moved to Canada two years ago.
Italian is her mother tongue, but she is also very fluent in English since her mother is Canadian and has
spoken to her in English since she was a child. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Economics and
Management in Rome. She worked in Italy as a teacher and tutor. She trained children, students and
adults for more than five years covering several subjects including Italian. She also taught English to
Italians, both in private and group classes. She personally organized, planned and managed English
group courses with programs and activities. She is able to use different teaching methods and
understand which approach could work best for each person. She had trained and taught for a long
time and she loves being able to pass on her knowledge to others. It is a big satisfaction for her to help
and see her students achieve their goals. She can teach classes in Coquitlam.

Sandra Canchig, Spanish Teacher
Sandra is a native Spanish speaker. She was born and raised in Ecuador. Sandra has a diploma in teaching Spanish as a second language from IE Institute. She also has a bachelor degree in Hotel Management with a particular focus in tourism. She has taught students from all over the world with different ages and levels at several language schools such as Verbling, 121Spanish and Ecuspanish school. She has helped them with Spanish for business, medical, academic, job interviews, conversation classes and many other. She not only introduces her students to a new language but also to a new culture. Having lived and worked abroad, she has a rich understanding of people & cultures and have excellent communication skills. She is highly motivated and flexible. In her free time, she enjoys photography, travelling, and reading. She teaches classes in Vancouver or Coquitlam.

Fernando Torres Montoya, Spanish Teacher
Fernando is from Lima, Peru. He has more than six years' dedicated experience in teaching Spanish language lessons in Vancouver. He is very energetic and passionate about teaching his native language.
His instruction includes relevant and interesting homework adjusted specifically to any level of Spanish. He has a great sense of humor as well! He is able to teach all Spanish levels, from basic to super advanced. He has a degree in Law and has graduated from the Immigration program at the University of British Columbia. Fernando loves to talk about Latino Culture, tradition, history and music since he has a depth knowledge of creating an interactive atmosphere for students in order to expedite learning. He has excellent communication skills and regularly is invited to make presentations and speeches around the city. When he is not teaching Spanish, he is playing the drums in his Latin music band. He can teach classes in Vancouver or Coquitlam.

Sonia Leon, Spanish Teacher
Sonia is a Mexican native speaker, she was born in Mexico City. She is
a professional Spanish language teacher and tutor specialized in teaching
Spanish as a foreign language. She has experience in working with clients
and students of different nationalities.
She is patient, tactful and kind, with good sense of humour.
She brings to class new and innovative teaching methods and resources
through role play, games and problem-solving activities.
On each class she works with he elaboration of didactic material, short
stories in a wide range of situations, using her experience and knowledge
creating personalized lessons which specially address the needs and levels of
the course and of the student goal.
